General Qualities & Characteristics

RODS Unicut 400 is a high lubricity, long life, chlorine free water-mix metalworking fluid designed for use in a wide variety of applications. When mixed with water, Unicut 400 forms a highly stable translucent, fluorescent green emulsion which is low foaming in soft water and low scumming in hard water.

High speed machining, general machining, grinding.

Material Compatibility

High carbon steels, cast iron, free machining ferrous metal, non-ferrous materials.

Water Compatibility

Suitable for a wide variety of water qualities with hardness values typically between 50 and 400 ppm calcium.

Concentrations

General machining 3.0 – 5.0%

High speed machining 4.0 – 6.0%

Grinding 2.5 – 4.0%

Product Mixing

The use of automated mixing systems is recommended. If the fluid is to be mixed manually, always add the concentrate to the water with maximum agitation.

The emulsion strength should always be checked using a calibrated refractometer.
