General Qualities & Characteristics

HB4 is a medium oil content, extreme pressure, semi-synthetic water miscible metalworking fluid. It forms a highly stable fine milky/semi-translucent emulsion which is capable of extended service life. The product is designed for use in all types of machines including high pressure CNCs.

Turning, milling, drilling.

Material Compatibility

A complete range of materials from aluminium alloys through to stainless steel.

Water Compatibility

Specifically developed for hard water areas to minimise scum formation and machine deposits. The emulsion remains clean and stable even in waters with calcium levels of 400ppm and higher. Can still be used in water with calcium levels as low as 50ppm.

Concentrations

Heavy Duty Machining/Difficult Materials 6 - 8%

General machining/Free Cutting Materials 4 - 6%

Product Mixing

The use of automated mixing systems is recommended. If the fluid is to be mixed manually, always add the concentrate to the water with maximum agitation.

The emulsion strength should always be checked using a calibrated refractometer.
